2. no it doesn't do that just yet, its on of the things that "we can look into in the future"

Thanks, yeah, understood that. I was more looking at how far away "the future" was i.e. Is it on the roadmap? If so, where on the roadmap?

You can control the unit over IP by entering the IP address of the T2200 unit into any browser on any device on the local network and control the receiver that way, no need for long IR extensions and physical remotes. Live streaming works only on live TV only however playback is something we can look into in the future.

I've worked my way through the 40 pages (I like that there is such an active forum on this product) looking for more info on the two items mentioned in the quote, but didn't find any (apologies if I missed it).

1. Control via Browser: Port 80 is not responding on the device (Telnet from LAN PC). 8080 is for streaming and responding. Is there a different port for control? I gather that if there is an app there is obviously something available for remote control, so interested in what this is (not an iOS/Android user, so no apps I can use).

2. Streaming of "other" items like recorded shows and TV channels other than the one currently selected on the box: I am coming from a Panasonic DMR. This has a DLNA server that publishes all recordings and channels through a folder structure (even when the box is sleeping). However, it's old and my Apple TV 4 cannot connect to the DLNA server on the Panasonic. So, I'm looking for something new that will allow me to watch Recorded and Live TV in additional rooms. I was hoping the T2200 would work as the "server" here. Is this something that will be available in the product?

Thanks

Trevor.

1. Sorry this is just the device IP address so enter in 192.168.XXX.XX and then go, no need for the port number in the end. this will bring up the remote in the browser. I'll chat to the team to see if we can get a HTML based portal (Just like our Smartphone Apps) for those who don't have one so they can have the features too.

2. Not at this stage, however we have got this in the pipeline for the next boxes,

Thanks for coming back to me. Yes, the web remote does work. Not sure why it wasn't last night. PIBKAC I guess. That's a shame about the streaming of recorded shows.

Thanks again.

I hope those new boxes don't get released until this one has those key lockups and errors fixed because a new box will come with its own issues and divert attention .

Hiya

Have posted on Whirlpool AU forum as well in relevant T2200 forum post there as well (not sure if you have seen) - this one seems to be more active.

Just wanted to see if there was a way to get rid of the big red and big green button on-screen popups for the relevant FV+ apps which is a bit annoying.

Is there a quick way to show the stream info of the live channel i.e. 1080i HD, 576p, AC-3 audio etc?

Also what are the rules / constraints for jumping fwd etc. Are they the same for NZ and AU? i.e. 30 secs, limit FF / REW to certain speeds etc.

Thx and cheers!

Hi. Yes, the issue with Whirlpool is that there is no email notification system which I always forget to go onto.

That is controlled by Freeview Australia. So there is nothing we can do on our end.

Press Info twice

The latest that I have heard is that the restrictions have been lifted but I havn't had a look into the Spec Sheets again that is provided by both Freeview Aus and NZ

I have no real problems with myT2200, but the thing I wish that could be fixed, is when I am tidying up my Library, if I delete a recorded programme, after it is deleted, the green cursor band jumps to the top of the screen, instead of to the recorded programme above the one I had just deleted, I really find this a pain in the butt.

YES to the above, it is annoying and I have found myself nearly deleting a programme I haven't watched because of this!!!

As this box doesn't seem to have a "deleted items" folder (which my Magic box had) there appears to be no way to retrieve an accidentally deleted programme, Dish TV can you comment please?

couple more bug bears

When you delete a file, it brings up 2 messages, deleting which is fine, then the second message, "Recording Deleted" or something along those lines pops up and stays there for ages, clicking the ok/enter button or exit or even back doesnt seem to clears it.

I have time shift setup, but when im recording 2 different channels and go to change it says i cant, could it not bring up a message to say the channel you are changing to wont be time shifted continue yes/no. i dont want to be locked into either of the 2 recorded channels, nor do i want to have to go into the menu to turn time shift off to change channels or cancel a recording.

on that same note, if im time shifting and a second program is set to record on a regular HD channel (1,2,3 as opposed to the +1 chanels) could it not ask if i wish to stop time shifting?

I have noticed an issue with the library. I was looking at the library in "series view" (blue button). A show which I know I recorded 2 episodes of, is only showing the second recorded episode (item count, right hand column showing "1". When I click on that show it opens the info in another window, still showing "1". Thinking I had made a mistake and not recorded the show, I watched the "missed show" on the "on demand" app. Then I went to have another look in the library and yes definitely only showing "1" episode of that particular show recorded.

I then notice that if  I press the blue button again, which takes me to "episode view", a new window opens and sure enough both shows are there.

I checked again, with a different show that I know I had recorded 2 episodes of but that is only showing 1 under series view, sure enough when I switch to episode view, both episodes are there, Dish TV can you please explain what is going on here???

New issue for me ,   while watching a recording , if another recording finishes it pushes a notification text to the screen blocking the view of my playback and then kicks me out to the library, all the while the recording/playback i am watching carries on behind the library screen.  Rather annoying .

Another issue for me, I've found that whatever I'm recording on a Saturday 7:30-8:30pm slot on TVOne is also getting recorded on +1, without that being configured in the schedule. I think it's because of the lotto draw at 8pm which is interfering, but it's happened on Posh Pawn, and what's replaced it, Britains Got Talent.

It's very frustrating, particularly because it's effectively blocking out a big chunk of the evening and it's not doing the offset properly so we keep missing the last few minutes of the first recording and have to switch to the second recording to catch the end.

I am on the latest firmware, and have made sure that only the main channel is configured in the schedule list, not the +1 channel.
