Jimmy22: The ps4 is a powerful box so I'm not surprised it is better , sounds like there is some room for improvement though. The remote itself is where I started. Perhaps we could time specific functions and list the difference in seconds ?

All goes down to processor speed, mind you PS4 is built for full on gaming :) However we do tweak UI settings to make it easier and smooth for our customers. :)

When I was looking recently I tried this unit in the store, frankly I think I would end up breaking it, it is slower than the Igloo Box and the VF T-Box. I passed on it for this and quite a few other reasons.

VF T box is very 2013 now  and igloo has no recording function,  for such an astute Geek , I could be forgiven for thinking your statement was more of a troll than a serious one ?

you did miss Tivo though haha     (i should say cannot record without another purchase)

I was not saying the Igloo was the same, I was comparing the general responsiveness. I still have an Igloo paper weight here. I did forget the Tivo but I stopped using that several years back so I can not confidently compare.

I had T-Box until later last year and aware of its performance.

Hi

We are afraid that you are incorrect, TVNZ has sent us an email regarding an issue on their app this past week and the issue was due to their development team rolling out an update without notifying so the bug was found by FreeviewPlus App users.

Freeview provides an up to date Network Status page here for all Freeview reports.  http://freeviewforum.co.nz/page/network-status

Thanks

Hi Josh,  Thanks for that,  am happy that the bug has been found.  One less thing to complain about. Obviously the update didn't hit the windows 10 app or the PS4 app.

I agree processor speed makes the difference, and I think as many comments previously made agree that the speed of the t2200 is not high.  The PS4 might not have been a good example.  The response of the T2200 to its remote is very slow if compared to operating the remote on my tv or blueray player.

We have introduced a new remote to fix this issue, responsiveness is far better than our original launch ones,

Hi Josh,  So do you have a scheme where we can replace our old remotes with the newer version.  This would be a great way of showing good faith to those that bought into the T2200 reasonably early and have persevered.

Which processor does the T2200 use and at what mhz does it run at. Does it speed throttle up and down like a pc CPU or run at a fixxed speed?

Some satellite chipset outs there are can be tweaked to get a 50 to 100 mhz overclock via software. But only if they have adeqate cooling.

It might be something your techs could look at trying.

We have no scheme at the moment

Having difficulty retaining sound on fast forwading library recordings. Aftrer fast forwarding and playing we have no sound. Worse when we go at 32 times. Not so bad at 4 times fast forward. Have to go back to library and start again to get the sound back. Is there something I'm doing wrong.

pretty sure it will update via the TV signal if there is no network avaliable.

I have no issues with FF and sound but i mainly use live pause rather than library content.

Have also had issues with sound sometimes when fast forwarding, sometimes no sound, sometimes out of sync. I've found that pressing pause then play helps, or a couple of seconds of rewind, play, pause play etc usually sorts out any issues. Here's a bit of good news for a change. The other day I was catching up with some episodes of a series and noticed one episode was 15 minutes short and said partial instead of recorded. I check each episode number to determine what I was missing and it said the partial episode was due to temporary power failure, but it had found a repeat episode the next day and got all of that one instead! I was impressed! Obviously not every channel does quick repeats (Bravo), but I thought it was pretty clever!
