I'm still happy to try your device on my set up ... might help eliminate some problem points, e.g. cabling, dish etc

That scan is really wierd.  I have been wracking my brain for any way to actually get a result like that, but I can not think of any.  In the interests of covering all the possiblilities, I think it might be a good idea to try different software, to rule out the possibility of it being caused by a bug.  TBS has blindscan software on their web site:

http://www.tbsiptv.com/download/common/tbs-blindscan_v3.0.2.0.zip

which should be able to do a similar sort of scan.  If that gets the same result, we can rule out problems with the scan software.

Where you have the LOF and switch entered - can you set polarisation, FEC, modulation and symbol rate to auto, or are they fixed?

I'm beginning to think something in the scan parameters is limiting which transponders it sees

Blindscan in the TBS application only lets you choose the frequency range and the LOF (which I'm still assuming is 10750 since my body corp haven't replied to my emails!!)

I'm actually starting to wonder if I have a faulty unit, when using the "analyze" feature in TransEdit (which constantly scan the selected TP and shows all data bring broadcast on it) the signal always drops from 23% to 0%, If I'm holding the unit at the RF IN socket and pull it a little the signal comes back but as soon as I let go it drops off.

I'm going to try and contact the manufacture/seller and see what possibility there is for  replacement.

Thanks Rickles for the offer, but I think I'll test this unit next time I visit my mum's house (she has a Freeview sat receiver so I know everything is setup correctly there.

What frequency range are you putting in?

What happens when you try the other LOF settings mentioned earlier - 10600, 10700, 11300?

Where did the fly lead come from, is it RG-6 coax, F connectors crimped with a tool or what??

Ok so maybe the faulty part was on me. The cable I was using from the wall to the tuner doesn't say it is RG-6 so probably can't handle the signal.

I've got a Pudney RG-6 F-Type cable, connected it directly to the satellite in the comms cabinet (see picture) and now the signal doesn't drop out and is constant at 23%.... but still only the 1 Sky Transponder.

I'm beginning to suspect the software.  I've always used ProgDVb with no problems, so maybe try a couple of other tuner apps to eliminate that avenue?

Tried taking that inline amp out? If the signal is making it as far as your patch panel, it shouldn't need a 20dB boost to get through your internal cabling. Might be overloading the tuner....

And post the C:\ProgramData\CMUV\DVBViewer\Transponders\DVB-S_1600.ini file.

That's really dodgy.

Satellite tuners supply power to the LNB mounted on the dish. It's very easy to short-circuit the tuner's power supply if the connection to the tuner is loose (as you seem to describe) or you connect/disconnect the tuner while the PC is on. If the tuner is not designed to avoid short-circuit damage, you may have already damaged the tuner to the point where it is no longer usable.

I think you're right, the unit just doesn't seem to work as it should.
I'm going to contact the seller and find out how to get a replacement

Took the amp out but got zero signal when connecting to the plug in the bedroom.
When I connected the unit directly to the satellite cable in that cabinet I still only got the 1 Sky transponder
