I have updated the guides to setting up an EPG for
GB-PVR

DvbViewer

I will write a more detailed guide for mediaportal once RC1 is available but have http://mentalindustries.orconhosting.net.nz/epgFiles/mediaportal.html for the current version WITHOUT tv server!

Hi Mentalinc, I'm wondering how to read your comment about MP TVserver. Are you saying that when MP RC1 is released you will update and include TV server or do you not plan to add it?

I will update my program when RC1 comes out.
I just don't wont to waste time getting it working only for RC1 to change something. (plus I dont have it set up and seems RC1 will make the setup alot easier.)

I've got a very busy first week back at uni, assignments due tests etc. hopefully will have it tested and working next week.

The set up for the server should be the same just will be using differnt menus to get there i think

I get the same error as Streamz, and like Streamz I am using a 64-bit windows (Vista). (clear from looking at the 'C:\Program Files (x86)' in his description)

So is there any way to run this in 64-bit versions of Windows? Can you make a fix?

Thanks, very much looking forward to using it.

Oh, and I am using GB-PVR also.

Hi Mentalinc

Well I tried to set up your program today on Media Portal RC1but your instructions have me confused with this line

The program needs to be given a parameter to work correctly for MediaPortal.
freeviewNZ-EPG-GBPVR.exe -mediaportl

First where do I put these parameters ?? as I cant figure out where there suposed to go ??

Ah yes I see he put it but I didn't notice that it was an 64 bit issue.
I shall try to add support in for x64 looks like it shouldn't be too hard.
I expect it to be working in the next version if all goes to plan.

This is a command line program (ie it has no pretty screen to click buttons on)
There is a file in the download called "mediaportal.bat"
If you double click this it will download the epg to "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\xmltv\tvguide.xml"
so set up mediaportal to point to this location to get the EPG.

Other wise say wait till early next week i should have a more detailed guide on setting up Mediaportal now that RC1 is out.

Excellent, now I get that it's all just going to be a big guess but do you expect to make a new release the day after tommorow or a few weeks from now?

I have found xmltvnz to be quite lacking. (Can only get TV 1&2, and getting TV1 to display involves changing 'TV1' to 'TV ONE ' (not 'TV ONE').

Anyway your program sounds very good sao far, so congrats.

I need to get mediaportal working first before i can start adding support for that.
Hopefully get out a new release during the weekend if not even a little earlier (but dont hold me to that).
