Hi Mentalinc

Upgraded to 2.0 thanks

I have used the -freeviewWebXML command which gives me CCTV8 (Chinese) - Thanks!
However -freeviewWebXML is missing TV3Plus1 and Prime
I tried using "-freeviewWebXML -all" but this gives same result as "-freeviewWebXML"
It would be good if you could use -freeviewWebXML and -all at same time.

A further option -xml "urlForEPG" can download a custom epg made at http://xmltv.co.nz, simply select the channels you wish to have an EPG for and replace "urlForEPG" with the url generated. Refer to the included batch files for details.

You should try the -urlForEPG and create a custom EPG with the channels you want.

I haven't upgraded to 2.0 yet, but I was wonderring if I can continue to use the listings-all.xml.gz from epg.pvr.geek.nz, but add additonal channels from xmltv.

I specifically want and use the BBC World programmes available from TV One in the early hours of the morning, which the author of the epg.pvr.geek.nz listings has manipulated to include from the BBC World channel on Sky.

But I would also like Radio NZ National and a local freeview channel added.

Using MediaPortal, would I have to import 2 files and somehow not wipe out the previous one?  Or is there a way to combine them into one file?

Thanks.

Hey mentalinc long time user... Thanks for a good year of EPG :)

Few questions and few problems...

1... Is there a way to hide the COMMAND window when launching the application. My internet connection is not always stable and require to launch the application more than once a day. Nothing like a big black square popping up...

2... Been having some issue's with the EPG data and 4TR.. I love 4TR and it's clever scheduling.. Seems that all the EPG data for "SKY Box Office" comes up as only one channel in 4TR, do not get the multiple listings. Do not know if this is the data or 4TR

Thanks again for a very cool tool.. :)

I'm not sure what 4TR is but for anything relating to the data, just download the XML file and you can see for yourself. There's several Sky Box Office XMLTVIDs all showing data.

you can edit the xml file in notepad and look. does it work ok when not using 4TR. are the channels correctly mapped in the xmltv plugin?

4TR. "For the record" Replacement plugin for the MediaPortal TV section. Allows Web scheduling and has much better conflict management and has a suggestions engine.

Looking at the XML data I think I can see what the problem is. You are right there are multiple SKY BOX OFFICE entries but they all say the same thing "SKY BOX OFFICE" rather than "SKY BOX OFFICE 1" "SKY BOX OFFICE 2" etc...

I'm most likely wrong, will address issue in the 4TR section. Thanks

To answer your first question: I cant do it programmatically but you can do it yourself.
I will create a proper guide soon and put it on my website

But basically create a shortcut to the batch file you are using.

Go to the shortcut tab, change run "Normal" to run "minimized".
The will now start the program on the tray.

Next you need to edit the scheduled task to point to the shortcut not the application.

Thanks for a great tool. I upgraded to the version 2.0.0.0, and suddenly the tool has stopped working. I get a windows "your program has stopped working" message. If I run the batch file from a cmd window, I see the following error message:
" Unhandled Exception: System.IO.IOException: Cannot create a file when that file
already exists.

at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError()
at System.IO.FileInfo.MoveTo(String destFileName)
at freeviewNZ_EPG.Program.Main(String[] args)"

If I copy the older version files back over the new version, it works perfectly (but then opens a web browser page every time it's triggered, which I hate).

What can I do to either a) get rid of the error in version 2.0.0.0 or b) stop the web browser opening up in the previous version? At the moment I have had to turn it off, which is irritating, as it was working perfectly before.

Many thanks for any help you can give.

I'm running Mediaportal on Vista 32-bit, if that makes any difference. The files are in the Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal TV Server directory in Program Files, which is where the previous version works perfectly. I haven't changed anything else other than upgrading to 2.0.0.0 (and then reverting back to 1.9.0,0)

PS. The log file has nothing in it, so I haven't included it.

Hi rjh4242

hmm appears to be an issue with the log file creation that is causing the problem.

Search in the my documents folder for a file called freeviewNZ_EPG_GBPVR_logfile.log and delete it.
Also look in the mediaportal folders where my .exe is and delete the file freeviewNZ_EPG_GBPVR_logfile.log.

This should hopfully solve your problem.

If you still get the error create an empty file in the my documents folder called freeviewNZ_EPG_logfile.log
let me know if you need to do this part as I will need to add it to my app.

Hi Mentalinc

Thanks for the speedy response. I am pleased to report that deleting the two log files in my documents (freeviewNZ_EPG_logfile.log and freeviewNZ_EPG_GBPVR_logfile.log) fixed the problem. There weren't any log files in the mediaportal folders.

Thanks for sorting it out so quickly.

Does this occur as soon as it starts?
If so you are most likley missing some .dll files (make sure they are all there)

Hi Mentalinc,

Been using your guides for a while now, recently updated mediaportal to use the direct web download via XMLTV plugin. Everything has been working great, but all of a sudden the listings for prime are an hour behind schedule - all the listings for the other channels are fine.

Any suggestions on a fix?

Cheers
