Have Freeview put an app on  our LG TV?

Just recently I reset our LG 42" TV which I cant see the model name but it is about 3 years old.  All went well but since then every time we change channels the bottom third of the screen is taken up by a display of Freeview programme information which most of the family find to be really annoying.

How can I turn this feature off?

Thanks

John

It sounds like your reset of the TV has caused a setting to revert back to its default value. Go through the settings in the TV and look for something to do with an info display and set it to off.

turn of hbbtv in the menus and it reduces the amount of crap on channel change that clutters it up.

Or just pull the antenna out and stick to apps for your entertainment. I find that gets better stuff ;)

Just be aware that turning off HBB TV disables Freeview Plus altogether.

OK, thanks for that info.

Now I will have to swot up on freeview plus to see if we really need it, frankly we are not sophisticated users and anything that requires pushing more than three buttons on the remote usually results into a session of extreme frustration.
