I am testing a Sony A1 OLED TV. One of the features is Freeview on demand... It plays for 10 - 20 seconds then pauses for 3 to 5 seconds. Repeat.

Anyone else seeing this?

Currently on 2degrees broadband, 1Gbps up/down, wired connection.

Just had a play with the Freeview Plus stuff on my Sony A1. If i got the TVNZ app to actually play something it played smoothly. But most of the time what ever I pick to play just left me with a blank screen or a wait icon going round and round.

Also noticed, if I used the back in time function from the EPG guide, it would start the correct app but only take me to the main menu and not the program I picked from the EPG.

I have no problem with Lightbox, Netflix, or using the built in chromecast. Streaming on these is smooth and non stop.

Connection is Slingshot 100/20 with TV connected by WiFi via a Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LITE access point.

When you say using the TVNZ app - aren't you using the built-in Freeview on demand feature instead (where you browse back in time on the EPG and select a programme to watch)?

And, yes, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Quickflix all play smooth with no problems.

Yes the Freeview on demand app. App, feature, function its all the same to me :)

You can get to either by using the EPG and going backwards in time to (Arrow left) or if you push the Green button (one of the four coloured buttons on remote) while watching TV. As far as I can see they are one in the same app.

Either way if the video played, it played ok. In HD and no pausing. It is just a lot would not even start. I would get the advert at the beginning then a blank screen.

Works perfectly on my Panasonic smart tv, with 2 degrees, 100mb up and down over wifi.
