I built a new aerial following some guides online (4-bay bowtie, 8" whiskers).

I'm in Titahi Bay and the transmitter is on Mt Kaukau at 202° to the south (according to Matchmaster). I've mounted the aerial facing that direction and tuned my TV.

Every channel comes in with a 100% signal except for Three and Bravo which are unwatchable.

I'm wondering that maybe my antenna whiskers are the wrong length or there's something else amiss.

Any ideas?

Try pointing the antenna (Horizontal) at Baxters Knob, drop this into Google Maps to help with pointing the antenna: -41.126957, 174.862180

I think it might be the PlayTV dropping it because if I plug the antenna into the TV itself, all the channels appear.

Heh, if I plug the Play TV tuner into my PC (it's an EyeTV Diversity under the hood), I can tune all 36 channels in under Windows Media Center.

So, it must be the Play TV software that is dropping the channels.
