Ooooh ! I certainly hope Trackside comes to Freeview! I watch alot of Trackside and would love nothing more than having better picture quality through the Freeview set top box than Sky's heavily compressed picture. Go Trackside and Go Freeview! I wonder if Trackside will broadcast in High Definiton?

Trackside in HD, I wouldn't think so.  The tests weren't even broadcast in 16:9.  Very odd considering that both Sky Channel and TVN broadcast in 16:9, so all their racing out of Australia should be no problem.

I'm sure in future Trackside will hopefully record races in HD. Of Course cameras/truck equipment will be needed(expensive). I have just been told Trackside will not be broadcast on Freeview in the short term....however, the possibility of this is currently being reviewed.

I asked Trackside a couple of weeks ago about them on freeview.  Bowlow is theitr reply.

"At this stage the information we have been given is that Trackside has no plans to become part of the TVNZ  'Stable' of Channels. Unfortunately I have been unable to clarify with Trackside's Head of Production, whether there has been any more recent  overtures  made to change the current arrangements we have with SKY to broadcast Trackside on their digital platform. So sorry all I can say is that it appears the status quo is to remain.
