Thought I might share this, since it doesn't seem to have been posted yet.

Kind of curious if the new HBBTV website(s) is/are in the AIT info yet, especially since they were doing testing a month ago (in Auckland and Satellite).

Seems weird that Freeview only support Smart TVs. The freeview app in Australia is available for mobile devices, and has Chromecast support for playing on a television. The main issue with the individual network apps is some (hello Māori TV) don't have native Chromecast support.

It seems to be an enhancement of the current FreeviewPlus mechanism, which requires an aerial receiving a signal to be connected to the TV to actually work. I was hoping for an application that would just use the internet to stream from.

There are other way to watch On Demand of course, but I notice that the ThreeNow app has recently disappeared from my 18 month old Samsung TV, so I guess more use of Android, plus Chromecast for watching On Demand - which unfortunately doesn't have such a good WAF in our household.

I haven't used the FreeViewPlus in a while because it was crap and 480. I've checked a few shows and they are 1080, I'll definately be using this more often. 1080 is new for FreeViewPlus right?
