You running mediaportal RC2?
What h264 codecs are you using?

60% CPU would suggest you are not getting hardware acceleration from your 8600GT.
Can't help with the analogue side of things sorry.

(I've cut and pasted this from my reply to another thread)....And make sure hardware acceleration is selected in PowerDVD AND MediaPortal (DirectShow Filter Control - PowerDVD Decoder Settings) in MediaPortal Config.  If you are using Vista, have you selected EVR as your Video Renderer Setting? (Mediaportal Config - DirectShow Filter Control - Video Renderer Settings  and select Enhanced Video Renderer (EVR) button).  That may help the smoothness.

Not sure about analog, but mcraenz said he has them working fine, so perhaps send a pm if he doesn't reply here.

What happens if you record (without watching) and then playback?  (To try and localise where the jittering is occurring- either in the tuner (recording) or the graphics (playback).

If it lags on playing back recorded TV, then its something wrong with the codecs/hardware aceleration/video card.

What's the signal strength like? Both on the digital and analogue channels you can receive on the HTPC and on ordinary TV.  Can you pick up Prime on your ordinary TV?  How good is that signal?  By all the other analogue channels, do you mean all the others like the Maori channel? Or just the VHF ones?  (Not sure what's available on UHF in the Mainland)

on normal tv i can get 1,2,3,prime and maori.

when i scan with the tv tuner i get 1,2 and 3.

we get perfect reception on prime, better than the other channels...

We have the amplifed thing (power to a splitter) you know what i mean :D

Thanks again!

1,2 and 3 are VHF channels.  You may need to configure your tuner to get UHF analogue channels.  Can't help with that tho' because I don't use an HVR-2200.

Have you installed the software that came with the 2200 (powercinema)?  That may point you in the right direction as far as configuration settings go for analogue UHF TV.
