pete9321: we have the clock ...standby issue fixed...and software will be on websites next week...
why bother putting unit on standby?
Very few folk bother doing this...!
?

Why does it have a standby mode, presumably it uses less power? Do you also leave your TV/HT receiver on 24/7?

i am not too concerned about the 1 cent i might save if i turn it on standby...have more important matters to consider

Why bother designing in the feature if it is not intended to be used?
If it is there it should work!
We look forward to it working, thank you for this.
How is progress with the other issues going please?

I have been biting my tongue everytime you post here, but this is exactly the kind of deliberately obtuse reply you usually give. It's not helpful. I'm glad you're not concerned with that 1 cent, good for you. Maybe some people are, maybe some people just want the audio to work flawlessly.

I'm still interested to know what kind of receiver you've used in your audio testing/everyday use. I'd like to rule that out as a possiblity.

I have to strongly agree with Bazza.

I too are still having issues with digital audio output (Coax and Optical), lower RCA stereo audio distortion, occasional picture "corruption", box freezing not allowing channel changes to be made, clock issues in standby.

I also have a Draco box which exibits none of the issues above that you state come from antenna or reception issues, when substituted into the same antenna and Digital Audio connections. The two boxes tune into the same UHF channels so are not receiving different broadcasts.

I have been waiting patiently for firmware to fix these issues, but if no fix is forthcoming I will be returning the box for a refund.

Peter, its about time you started treating your customers like customers. Half arsed off the cuff, BS replies will not help you generate more sales. If people have genuine concerns, address them professionally and honestly. It appears you have a potentially good product here mate, but reading through the thread I am guessing sales are not going through the roof as you claim, but slowing down. Anyone looking to buy a DVBT box that reads this thread is very unlikely to choose an ET.

Of course the other option I guess, us for disgruntled users to complain directly to the manufacturer, and mate, its not hard to work out who that is.

Never have truer words been spoken.
I was going to purchase an ET box but after reading about all the issues and the suppliers rude comments and put downs of other brands I won't touch one!!

I totally agree with Mr America. I followed this thread for some time but was totally put off with the vendor's attitude, and happily purchased a Draco. I am very glad I did.

human nature prevails....!! simple...

we know of the faults with the draco...all units have something wrong with them...like woman...we all have differring tastes...Fat...slim...bad cooks, good cooks...some like being on standby...some like being turned on all the time..!!

Funny how our Dealers prefer and buy the E.T over accredditted units.....market dictates whats best...and we admit Drako and ours are considerred better than some accredditted units...for more reasons than just having HD on component...

It's easy to say the clock not working properly isn't a big issue, but when you purchase something you want it too work as intended!!!

Hi All

Its easy to turn this into a flame war... but seriously. Sometimes issues occur. If Pete is in contact with the supplier and the are saying there is a fix coming then thats all he can say. Yes he could be a little more apologetic but some people see these attacks as person and respond as such.

I think the ET box has the potential to be good.... not great but good.

Bottom line is you know what the problems currently are buy if you want to or wait for something else. Everyone reading this is reading this due to the fact they want to be informed purchasers or because they didn't research before hand.

The product hasn't changed only the opinion about it. So on both side I think a level of maturity is required.

Ryan

Ryrager: I think the ET box has the potential to be good.... not great but good.

The box is already "good", no need to worry about potential. It could be better, if only Peter would quit resorting to putting down the other boxes and trotting out his "if you don't like it return it" line. He insists the digital audio out problems are signal based, yet other audio outputs are unaffected. Some feedback to aid in testing would be helpful. Smarmy comments are not helpful. If my box reports signal quality 100%, what else am I to think?

I still want to know what brand/model of receiver Peter is using, so I can eliminate that as an issue or try the same model. Any helpful comments, Peter?
