I just saw a short ad on The Edge TV that it is going HD on 1 July but I can't 100% tell from the link below if its just their streamed version on ThreeNow or if it includes their Freeview signal (or even Sky?)

Very informative article. One would assume it's everywhere?

I would guess it's HD on their platforms only,as there is no mention of Sky or freeview.

They might change their mind depending on feedback I guess?

The Edge will be HD on 3Now, Rova and theedge.co.nz.

It is being dropped from Freeview and Sky - being replaced by ThreeLife.

Sounds like a good opportunity for Mediaworks to bring back FOUR.

I'm not surprised about The Edge going off freeview, they have not put any effort into the channel since Christmas in the form of live shows, etc and given its aimed at youth then streaming makes sense.

Will ThreeLife be in HD?

Ooops.  I put you wrong.  ThreeLife is already on Freeview (Channel 11) and Sky (Ch29).  TheEdgeTV is being replaced by a timeshifted ThreeLife (ThreeLife+1).  And given ThreeLife isnt in HD, I doubt ThreeLife+1 will be.

I cant see Four coming back.  With Bravo and ThreeLife Mediaworks has signaled where it wants to take its content.

Another nail in Freeview's coffin from the look of it.

Lets scrap anything different in terms of content and replace it with a +1 filler channel.

IMO the +1 channels are a waste of time given we're now in the age of On-Demand and DVRs, they are just space fillers
