I have been looking verywhere, is Sony still the only company to offer built in freeview in a LCD TV. Want atleast 40 inch.

The sharp Aquos now has a built in Digital TV tuner too, it comes it various sizes. Also samsungs new 6 series will be released shortly with freeview tuners (no exact date off hand though).

According to the Samsung website the series 6  just has an analog tuner..  From memory the Sharp is out of this world  in price..

About a month before Samsung release there 3 diff versions.

Two weeks ago I sent an email to Samsung gently baiting them to try and get them to disclose when they were going to release TV's with digital tuners. I told them I had been looking at the Sony's but having seen the Samsung I would rather buy that and would hold off buying if they could indicate when the Samsung would be coming out with digital tuners. They replied that Samsung have no plans to release a TV with digital tuner at this time!

PS, I still bought the Samsung as it still looked to have a better contrast and depth of colour than the 10bit Sony panel!

That's exactly what one of our guys here at work was told. He went and bought a Sony instead..
