For some reason on the HD homerun website (http://hdhomerun.co.nz/) it doesn't list the ability to work on the Mac? It lists EyeTV support coming, I think.

As far as I can remember HDHomerun support has been in EyeTV since 3.0 maybe even 2.x. I've been busting for a PAL version to come out.

1. Has anyone tried it yet with the New Zealand version?

2. Is there a reason why EyeTV would work with the NTSC version and not the New Zealand PAL version?

thanksSmile

I haven't tried it with eyetv yet as my demo has timed out but it does work under OSX

My review is online at mythtv.co.nz, just look for part one which is the osx setup.

There are several differences between the ATSC based US version at the DVB-T based NZ version which would require a softwar update to eyetv.

Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC a Technology Evangelist and Product Manager. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.

I hate to answer my own questions on a forum, but this is what I found after I started the thread, for anyone who was wondering:

Hi,

I have contacted the AU distributor. The website will be corrected.

We expect EyeTV to support the DVBT HDHomeRun in a future release, but the current release does not support the DVBT version.

and this

Hi Jafa,

Do you know when EyeTV support is likely to be added? I, unfortunately, contacted the AU distributor before purchasing HDHomerun and was assured by the Technical Support Manager that SageTV and EyeTV were both supported. I am now stuck with a HDHomerun that I can view programs (via VLC) but not record, an EyeTV software that does not recognize the hardware and an IceTV subscription that I cannot use. Unless I can workout how to get MythTV working on an Intel Mac (no easy task) I am stuck with no solution and an empty wallet. Not Happy.
