They're still changing it up. Sky moved a bunch to 156, which requires the LNB that can see it along side 160, and I think they require a 22KHz tone to switch between the two?

Anyway, they plonked Miasat 3a at 160 for the Aussies, and now Korea is working with Optus and have moved Koreasat 6 also to 160. Sky have a test card running on this bird.

I'm just taking a guess here, but I'm assuming it may mean Sky channels are all going back to 160 degrees on Koreasat 6 soon? Until Optus can get D2's permanent replacement launched?

The move to backup sat optus 10 at 156E was scrapped. OPtus need optus 10 for their aussie vast service as D3 is in wobbly mode as well. The new plan is to usae Koreasat 6 parked at 160E now. As a 2 year temp until Optus 11 goes up.

So far the test transponder has a massive signal. Way better than D2 ever was or could be. I think the Sky channel at 156E will stay there until they have Koreasat6 up and running.. one problem they may run into is the LNB skew for Koreasat 6 is a lot different to the one Optus use which means some people will stil lneed an lnb adjustment.

When set on "optus" skew, i measured %85 in vertical pol bleeding into the H.

Optus 10 also has an Australian Department of Defence hosted payload of some sort.
That could make it tricky to move

Currently my TV for Satellite DTV shows Optus D1 160E.

Will the satellite ID change when the new satellite is deployed?

Will I have to rescan my TV to pick up the correct info?

The name won't matter. As long as it can find one transponder you should be OK
