Interesting. Is it me or is the EPG much faster as well with 3.12?

I use an HDMI interface. I wonder if this means I can get teletext to work via composite output. FreeviewHD does not seem to broadcast teletext (it is on SD satellite). I've been wondering what's going to happen to teletext when analogue is turned off as I use it a lot.

BTW: I don't like the gadgets, it's just getting the first bit of a story designed for the web and ends mid sentence... teletext is a whole lot better!

Does anybody know whether it is possible to record continuously on the Magic TV. For example..I wanted to record Police Ten and Highway Patrol consecutively, but the Magic TV stopped recording at the end of Police Ten Seven. I had to press record again to record Highway Patrol. I hope that makes sense. Thanks.

I haven't tried it, but I believe pressing 'R' while it is recording brings up a menu allowing you to extend the recording further.
Let us know what you find.

Apparently in a couple of years,Teletext will be replaced by Digitext thus enabling the "text" function on the Magic Tv..

It does this automatically you should not have had to do anything. I've set mine to start and extend the recording 5mins. I record the News on TVOne and then Close-up, both recordings have the overlap in them. Did you have another programme scheduled to record at a higher priority from another channel?

Do you have at least 3.11 firmware? Older firmware seemed to "forget" about series recording. Have a look at the ToDo list and check it's going to record everything you prorgammed.

if you action a record from the epg then the epg prog information is recorded along with the prog for that event , if you extend the recording end time to the next prog you do not get the epg txt for the next prog. you need to press the red button from in the epg for each prog to do . there is a down side to this as the magic will extend the first prog on one tuner and use the other tuner to start the next prog early as per the settings for added start and finish  which means if you want to wach another mux  ie tv3  whilst recording you cant untill the overlap is gone . the solution is to set a manual recording ( menu >recording > timer recording >set ) this will force the magic to use only one tuner as there is no overlap for start and finish between prog's  the other tuner is free to use for any other prog.

hope this helps

For Magic TV fans and friends Bond & Bond currently has some good pricing.  They now have the Magic TV for $699.  Additionally the sale now on offers 20% off Freeview receivers.  I asked if this applied to MyFreeview receivers and was told it does bringing the price to $560.
