Didn't even know they were remaking this 80's sci-fi miniseries? You can view the first 9 minutes on ABC.

I tried to find out which local networks will be playing this, but no luck. Hopefully it will be on freeview.  Anyone know?

Don't know if I can wait, might have to download from a torrent site - you can even get the high def version. .

It's quite good. Some of the SFX are a little hinky, but it's fairly ambitious for a TV show so with that in mind it's actually quite impressive.

No sign of any cats so far (you know what I mean!), and for some reason the lead alien's name is now Anna instead of Diana.

No Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) equivalent that I can see either unless that's supposed to be the big guy which is a massive character jump if so.

A lot of the cast are recognisable from previous shows, a couple of ex-Firefly actors, and one of the previously teen-angst family characters from Party of 5.

Looks like a fun show anyway.

Yes indeed, I saw a link to the 720p version of S01E01.
No, of course I didn't click on the link!
However, should I accidentally watch the program tonight somehow, I'll let you know how it is.

Cheers,
Joseph.

I was reading something about this last night. They are going to air the first four episodes now and then air the rest in March next year.

I doubt it will be picked up locally until there is an actual complete season to air.

The US have this nasty habit of screening first run shows in two parts, V's season gets  interuppted by the regular US holiday season, but next  year things get screwed up a bit more  due to the Olympics in the last 2 weeks of Feb.

Here's hoping that ABC doesn't do a Defying Gravity to it and kill it at ep 9 of 13 eps. Basically killed off an excellent SciFi show. They did the same to Masters of Science Fiction in 2007.. Guess Reality shows rule..

Have to admit, it was considerably better than I thought it would be. So many of these new (sci-fi) programmes have such similar & overdone characterisation they just blur into total unoriginality -ie. Battlestar Galactica, for one.

Why are the aliens always after our water. It's almost like H and O are some extremely rare substance.

Describing Defying Gravity as Grey's Anatomy in space was a bad move, that pretty much was a clear sign it wasnt going to pull the viewer numbers. Combining two opposite audence types was a bad idea.

Im a sci-fi nut and loved the sci-fi parts but all the baby stuff and flashbacks were annoying. There wasnt enough sci-fi to keep me happy and there was too much sci-fi to keep the Grey's Anatomy crowd happy.

The rest of the eps have been aired on another channel.

I watched the V pilot the other night and overall wasnt impressed, Ill have to give it a few more eps.
