Is anyone else just getting dots? If I use the EPG button it then displays the information but when I use the OK option to bring up a quick listing or when I change channel no data is coming through just shows the time/date and a dot.

This is on a Magic TV box, I'm in the Milford area.

Is this Magic TV box a Freeview|HD certified one, or one of the other Magic TV boxes?

Same here, Official Zinwell Freeview HD box.  On TV3 they transmit now / next and more into the future, but with "." as the title, rather than the name.  The box seems to stop updating properly and displays the cached info for now next ".", rebooting the box fixes it but it is a pain.

Doesn't happen on 1 and 2 as they don't transmit all the programs into the future past now / next as full stop.

I guess the box doesn't think it needs to refresh as it has data, its just invalid data.

Asked freeview multiple times about it through their website but heard nothing back about it.

EIT is down for me in Glen Eden. MHEG 5 is still up though.

MagicTV ( the Freeview certified PVR). I wonder if it's anything to do with the powercuts in Auckland. Sounds like TV3 have been running on generator so they may have stopped transmitting data.

Or it could just be Freeview unreliablity....

freitasm: Is this Magic TV box a Freeview|HD certified one, or one of the other Magic TV boxes?

Certified, even has the pretty logo on the front :-) But going by the replies it looks like a problem with Freeview itself, not surprised to be honest. I've found the service "buggy" as if it was rushed out, I've noticed little problems here and there and the certified EPG that they use looks terrible. The graphics look like something from the 80's compared to the HD menu's that the magic tv box has.

Don't get me started on the rubbish that is the DVB-S service....

Round that off with the lack of replies from Freeview themselves when I send emails through regarding issues such as this one it makes for an all round awesome service =)

Oh... and not to mention that Freeview|HD does not cover the whole of NZ and that some smaller local TV stations will be dead in the water when the switch over to digital it all seems like another farce put together by the NZ government.

Back on topic, turning the box off and on using the switch at the back fixes the problem.

So you're quite happy with 4:3 analogue TV and thing there is no need for digital TV?

I know I'm certainly not..

For anyone who is interested here is what the issue is. See screenshot from PC application showing all the future programs as ".". Now see the receiver isn't updating enough to show the correct information.

Surely they should be able to sort it out but is been like that since launch. Very slack

Nope, EIT. MHEG5 hasn't gone down for me tonight, just EIT.

Why would you care about EIT on DVB-T? It's of no use at all.
