I recently purchased a UHF decoder in Hastings. All channels except TV3 and TV4 have good signal. Most of the time TV3 and TV4 have no signal or very poor signal. I have a Homecast decoder and an aerial on the roof. I was wondering wwhere to start to diagnose the problem.

Is your aerial suitable for UHF? is it pointed in the direction of other aerials? Is it corroded? Are your connections visibly damaged?

Hi Craig, exactly what antenna do you have, and where is it pointing. For FreeView|HD all you require is a UHF antenna with good quality cabling that is pointing at Mt Erin with Vertical polarity.

The DVB channels used on Mt Erin are 27, 31, and 43, therefore it sounds like 31 has some quality but not the others, can you manually scan each of those channels and report what signal strength and quality the STB reports (not too farmilar with what options the homecast has in this respect).

Cheers
Cyril
