What's going on with my Freeview? In the last week or two I've noticed that periodically (usually early evening) the TV picture breaks up to the point that it's unwatchable - but only certain channels are affected - notably TV1, TV2, Maori, TV6, TV7, all showing between 70% and 70% signal strength, the remainder being fine. This period of unwatchability lasts half an hour or so, then just comes right.

I am also having a similar issue with freeview HD in Christchurch in the last week.

The problem appears rampant, with no reliable method of finding outage information nor ability to report outages.

Can't help but wonder what a PVR would do when trying to record a broadcast with no signal?

the original poster is commenting on the satellite signal - not the terrestrial HD signal. IF there were problems in CHCH on teh sat signal there would be problems in the whole country.
For what it's worth - I am in CHCH also and have been watching freeview sat feed last few nights and have noticed no problems.
Sounds like a dish that needs adjusting.
