Hi there, im new:)

My issue is this. I lived in Auckland last year, and owned a few differnt 50"+ Samsung TVs with Freeview built in. They all worked FINE tuning in Freeview with a pair of rabbit ears.(we had no roof mounted aeriel). The last TV I had in Auckland (Samsung LA55A950d LED LCD) also worked fine with the rabbit ears. I bought that EXACT same TV back to Wellington with me, with the EXACT same rabbit ears and plugged it all up. I CANNOT tune ANY Freeview channels anymore, or for that matter any normal channels. It was from Mount Eden to Miramar. Does anyone have any idea what the issues maybe??????

Thanks

Presumably where you were in Auckland you had a stronger signal. Rabbits ears are certainly not recommended for Freeview - if you are in a very strong signal area they may work but an external aerial is always the best option.

Since Miramar is quite well shielded from the closest transmitter site (Mt Kaukau) your best bet if an external aerial which should deliver great results.

Yeah probably, just seems weird that in Auckland I was getting 100% reception. And in Wellington I get 0%. :S

It's not whierd at all. As I explained you were probably a lot closer to a transmitter (and could probably see the Sky Tower were one of the transmitters is) so the rabbits ears worked. It's very rare to get good performance from rabbits ears, you were just pretty lucky!
