I think it was the same price. It's a good box. The problem it has is with repeated programs (i.e. shows that have an encore screening later in the week). These need to be set closer to the screening time (i.e. day of) to reliably record. It is being worked on. Since this box is the same as the Zinwell (apparently), I would expect it's having the same problem?

Anyway, other than that I've found it more or less rock solid.

This reminds me I must send a reminder through to the techs. This issue shouldn't be too hard to fix and it is a bit of a hassle.

i'd have to agree with bazzer, it's basically a good box. other than it not liking to record programmes that are repeated during the week it's been a rock solid performer for me in all other aspects in the 8mths i've had it.

Jaxson: How much was this box on the 1 day special a while back?
It's advertised at 100% stores for $399 a the moment, but what's the vibe on this box. I know its 320gb but its $300 cheaper than the magic TV. (Not sure what the zinwells are going for now). Just wondering if it's worth the leap or if the box is fatally floored?

yeah, was $399 on 1-day.(i picked one up for my mother)
if you read the magic tv thread there are people having issues with that as well. i think all the boxes have there issues.

Sweet thanks guys.
Guy at work has magic and has commented on same repeat screening issue so yeah I think it's very common and hopefully fixable issue.

Freeview should be putting the pressure on these companies too, especially having certified them, to ensure that consistancy of use thing they go on and on about.

I was just worried about a cheaper box in case it lacked grunt or similar but it all sounds good from what you are saying. Cheers.

Nope, I keep sending reminders but I don't get any response at all now! Luckily, most of the shows I watch aren't repeated now.
