Jaxson:My world famous J C Matthew brand PVR is currently going well, but you can't buy them any more and support is via email to Australia for example.  I'll check the TV1 recordings though to see if mine has the same problem as it's essentially a Zinwell PVR with newer firmware.  Do people actually watch TV1?

I'd be interested to hear if your JC Matthew does exhibit it.

What is your firmware version and where do you source your updates?

Breakthrough.  I got hold of tvnz today and it has been comfirmed that this issue is due to a change in audio streaming from the network that is not recognised by the zinwell box.  Due to it being 'their fault' he assured me that this problem would be fixed by the end of the day.

Great job - well done.
I hope that my email to engineering also helped with this resolution.
They're not normally great as publicly admitting error on their part.
I look forward to checking with a test recording later.

Hey I've just received this from TVNZ.

"Guess where this has ended up! We have made a change and given the new audio channel a new PID, hopefully this will have corrected the problem. It seems to be caused by the odd way Zinwell decode the audio. T should be by type and prefer English. I’m very interested to  see how it behaves now."

I've just done a quick test record and everything's back to normal.
Mission accomplished.  Cool

Sorry can't test it as you've fixed it already!

There are no firmware updates for the JC Matthew box as there is nothing wrong with it.

By the looks of it it is extremely similar hardware / software and as it came out after the Zinwell it got a bigger 320Gb hard drive and none of the initial Zinwell software glitches.
