Hello, I seem to be having a intermittent problem only with my TV3 picture/sound. This tends to be only happening in early evening (TV3 news). The problem is occasional pixilation and sound drop-out. It has been happening for the past 2-3 weeks. Otherwise video has been fine since January when I got the TV.

This does not seem to be happening on TV1 or 2. Haven’t really checked others.

According to my TV (Samsung 46 LED) my signal strength is 92 or 93, which I assume is very good.

I’m using an old UHF aerial, cabled directly to TV. Based in Hillsborough and pointed at the Waitakere transmitter.

The problem seems odd, that it is specific to TV3, is there anything different about how this channel compresses it’s video?

Any ideas appreciated.

TV3 and TV4 and Four are on a mux on their own, so the issue is more likely a reception issue of that mux rather than a compression issue.

Thanks Cyril.

This seems to make the most sense. But I'll check those other channels, which should help confirm.
Is there any reason that reception would differ between MUXs'.

different frequencies have differnt propagation conditions as a result of the environment and its dimensions.
