Hi guys here @ Geekzone,
thank you for reading this post and thank you if you know any info about this problem and you are kind to post a reply,

I just install it the  Win TV HVR3000 in my HTPC to run DVB-T freeview |HD here in Palmerston North however I have hit the wall of frustration at not been able to get Prime and MaoriTV in the scan with Windows Media Center in Windows 7 64bit.

according to the freeview website I should be able to get those channels in Palmerston North due to Palmy been a flat town with not many high buildings and I should be able to get all the channels??
yes I am aiming to the right direction and yes i got an HDTV antenna.

should i raise the antenna or reinstall drivers or would it be the cable is to cheap.

cheers,

Andy

It would probably help to use the Subject/Topic field for the topic and to put the content in the body of the post. Laughing

You would not belive how important it is for me to get Prime and Maoritv as Prime is best place for free to air sports and Maoritv will be playing more rugby world cup games live then tvONE ,
I updated this post as by accident i submitted without been finish by pressing key on small laptop keyboard my bad.

thank you guys,

I hope you can understand Maori then? Up to 10% of the broadcasts will be in Maori. If you like me and don't understand a word then rather get Sky Sports, and it will be in HD.

I found on my freeview setup I was not receiving Prime either. Not sure about Maori. Anyway, I switched on the antenna power, and strangely it sorted out the problem.

Braaiguy thank for reply I actually did not know the game commentaries are done in Te Reo then I will have to see games in other channel.
Im using an antenna called 4 bay bowtie and is very good but i may have to place it in the roof to get the other channels.

thanks,

Andy

Even though it is mostly flat here in the Manawatu and the transmitter is in a very good position I'd say you'd almost certainly need a roof aerial for reliable reception. I've tried with a small indoor aerial and while it picks up FM for most of the major stations, it will not pick up Freeview. I don't live in town so there aren't that many obstacles to reception (aside from the house walls etc.) either...

Pretty sure that option only sends power back up the aerial to a mast head amplifier (if you have one).
Its magic if you dont :-)

Have a look here:

Presumably you can recognise where your signal is coming from.
Do a manual tune - you may find one of those UHF channels is lower than the rest and wont autotune.
That channel is probably carrying Prime/Maori.
I imagine you need to tweak your aerial a bit - a manual tune might show something - bit it could be patchy and intermittent.

Yip you right. Because when I went up the ladder to reposition the aerial, i got a slight shock when I touched the thing!

it is just to wet and tricky on the roof so I will have to leave it for now and see i can try from the gary's roof.
I think im gonna add some reflectors to this antenna to increase reception but for the other 8 channels good reception from indoors and good image too.
i hope i dont need a booster...:(

cheers,

Andy
