Before we found the dog had chewed through the cable outside, we reset the Freeview tuner to factory setting because it said there was no signal.  On finding the chewed cable we got a new section and connectors from our local Freeview retailer and repaired the cable.

Problem is, everytime I have tried to tune in the channels in the past I have always needed to call the store and have help because it never is as simple as 'plug-in and automatic tune'.  There is always something else I need to do - change set up details etc. and this time is no exception!  The store is closed for the weekend and wondered if anyone on here can help.

I have followed all the advice in the manual but still get 'database empty'.

If it is relevant, I live in Wellington.

You will need to know the frequency of the LNB (that's the bit up on the roof at the end of the wire)

Hi,

Try the following if the "Auto Scan" does not work:

1. Go to Installation/Satellite Setup
2. Change your LNB number so that the LNB Low and LNB High Frequency reads 10750
3. Save the settings and when asked "Do you want to Scan", reply with "No"
4. Go to Installation/Blind Scan and press OK to scan. See if you get any transponders appear in the list.
5. If transponders appear then check if "Freeview" is listed among the transponders. If yes, you should get the channels.
6. If no transponders appear, go back to step 2 and try 11300 instead of 10750 an repeat the blind scan.
7. If this still does not work then you have an issue with the cabling between the receiver and the dish or the LNB has a fault.
