What are the OpenBox units like? Seems like you get a lot of bang for your buck which is a concern! Reason for DVB-S2 is GEM etc as long as it lasts.

Oblivian: FYI.. They are gone already. Since 29th Dec and so far not been back. It may well be they instated a 2012 plan which invloves dropping the Sat feed of it for cable.
mcraenz: Hi, I'm looking for a DVB-S2 STB. Mainly needs to be reliable and easy to use. For a non-techy friend who lives a long way from me and I don't want her to have to worry about support. (I.e. not a hobby box where you have to play around with various firmwares to make it work well!) Don't need PVR. Want to spend ~$150. Am I dreaming?

Are you saying that Channel 9, Gem and Go! have gone from Optus D1? I've been desperately trying to get a better signal on the 12398 V transponder!
Any explanation as to why it has been pulled?
