This codec pack on this website seems to include CoreAVC 1.7 Pro
I have not tested it yet, but the installation program lets you choose which codec you can install, so you can just select coreavc and nothing else. I can not guarantee it is not a trial or tell you whether or not it includes adware/viruses or anything else, and if it is legal or not.

It seems to play with GPVR.  It freaked on tv3's starwars,  but my computers under load as I am transcoding ts to xvid.

I am recording some arts from TVNZ6 to see what that is like with this new codec version.

Software H.264 decoding = FAIL
"I can not guarantee if it is legal or not" = FAIL
"Free", a hyphen (" - "), and any other words in a URL = FAIL
This thread = FAIL

In fact, just...

FAIL

Seriously... I encourage no one to visit a site like that. You are just beggin' fo yo Windows box to be pwned. The software is commercial software, and the publishers own website offers a trial, or a purchase. So this site is sure not giving it away free legitimately. There is probably at least an element of:

piracy
malware
spyware
vx
trojan

or any or all of the above (some of which are more than one of the above if you get my rant).

Advice: Buy some hardware that does 264.

Free codecs is a pretty legit site i think (in terms of viruses etc), so its the element of piracy then(yarrr).

I read run of the comments on the website, claiming that it contained a virus, however avast didn't pick any viruses up.
I am going to stick to using powerdvd8 for now with H.A. off until i get a gforce 8500/8600 card.

There are other safer places to get coreavc from.

It largly works for me watching stuff here, after recording and playing the .ts file - watching live it a mess however.
