they sure are nice and pretty but personally i can think of better things to spend my $$ on....   like an undercover  season ticket for eden park, hal a sky subsciption, 25 $20 DVDs for the library, ....  i just dont get why I would need a remote with a screen when its commanding my TV which, incidentally, has a screen that shows whats happening in real time Tongue out

Well it is certainly a luxury rather than a necessity! the $349 one is the most expensive I think but I agree it is alot of $$$

Its good for people who use their htpc for alot of music as you dont need the tv on but you can still control media center (plus any sideshow gadget, email, etc, etc)

Still, I think that people will be happy to part with their cash for these. Looking around Ive seen them for under $300 too

I want one but will not be shelling out $300US for it... suspect price will come down over the next year too

i wouldnt necessarily count on a big price drop - the similar devices from harmony, philips, sony etc are still priced high after several years

i would also suspect that using leaving the TV screen on would use less power in $$ over a year or two than what one of these remotes cost - plus you get pretty visualizations or slideshows to boot :-)

for 'cool' factor, if money wasnt an issue, i'd definately take one (plus something similar embedded in the wall in each room to control lights, blinds etc too)

You might want to be a bit careful as well. Seems these remotes have been on pre order for a LONG time.. like since last year sometime and still no sign of them becoming real Undecided

I read about that. They announced them a year ago but nothing ever happened. Apparently they've re-announced them (lol) and are ready to go. Ill believe it when I see it though.

I wont be buying one at that price anyway

Yeah, I've been keeping my eyes on the VAVE 100 too, but as Nety says, they have been available for pre-order for like forever.

They did have a special pre-order price at some stage.  Not sure what happened to that.

Do they have macro ability?

Given how long the've been on pre-order, they aren't made in Nigeria, are they? Tongue out
