I have some time now & would like to sort an issue that, whilst not troubling, would be good to rectify.

I have never been able to get hardware acceleration (HW) to work on my main HTPC system -with various versions of Mediaportal. As you can see from my sig, I have all the necessary hardware but something is obviously amiss. I am using PowerDVD's version 7 H.264 codec manually registered from the trial pack. I setup PowerDVD's configuration to use HW when I first installed the trial pack. From memory, I also attempted to use the trial 8 version with same result.

I have set MP's directshow filter control to use HW in that section. But everytime I load a *.ts media file inside Mediaportal, the CPU useage ranges between about 30-85% for the MP app, according to Process Explorer.

Is there anything else I could try or have I missed something? Can't test my belief that my bedroom client HTPC, with Sempron 3000 is using HW as I'm Ghosting at present. But given the low CPU & *.ts file playback is great, I'b bet HW is working perfectly there (with PowerDVD8 trial). Is there something extra required for Intel CPUs? Or in the mobo BIOS?

Have checked Mediaportal's site & searched with no luckYellYellYellYellYell Cheers.

Update:

I uninstalled PowerDVD7 & reinstalled version 8 & HW (yeah, should have veen HA) & worked with an average CPU useage of about 5-8%. Don't know why it didin't work first time around. And why it didn't work with version 7.

Also, my client HTPC allowed Battlestar Galactica to playback at an average CPU useage of about 19%.

Question: has anyone else been having stutter issues with programmes recored off TV3/C4 last night? In fact, the last two Wednesdays have been an issue. I do get intermittent stutters but I am starting to believe that it may be aerial/cable related. I just want to confirm there aren't any other possibilities first. Cheers.
