I recently read a post that described using a ramdrive for timeshifting with VMC.  The tricky bit is that practically you can't use the ramdrive for recording TV, and the timeshifting location is tied to the recorded TV location with VMC (unlike MediaPortal).

The proposed solution I read was setting up a ramdrive as a dynamic disk and mounting it as the TempRec folder that VMC uses for timeshifting.  Thus your recorded TV still uses your normal HDD, but timeshifting goes onto the RAM drive...

Sounds good in theory, but complex to setup!  For me to do this I would need to buy more memory so I'm keen to know it will work before embarking down this path...

Has anyone tried this, or know enough about ramdrives, VMC, and dynamic disks to have a view?  Also how large would the RAM drive need to be ???

Thanks!
