I want my next HTPC to be smaller, cooler, quieter.
From the looks of the new motherboards, I won't be needing a separate graphics card.
That leaves the two DVB-S cards.
Ideally, I would have 3 or 4 DVB-S cards, but that makes my HTPC big, and I want it small.
I want to pull those DVB-S cards out of the HTPC, and plug them in my server, so the cards get accessed over the network.
I'll be running Windows 7 Media Center (because I'm running it now, and it's solid). I also have a MC Extender, but I don't consider it an option for my next HTPC.
I've come across DVBLink (from dvblogic.com), which might do the job. Anyone have experience with this product?
I can't get DVB-T where I live, so I don't think HomerunHD is an option.
What is the Microsoft way of doing the same?
I'm keen to read any options before I commit myself. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Rob
