Hi all,

I have my Squeezebox setup to stream The Rock radio station as my morning alarm (since where I live I can't receive it on a normal radio).

This has been working fine for years. A couple of days ago my alarm stopped working and I am unable to get that station to play (thru the Squeezebox) at all. The other stations, 91ZM, 92More, etc all seem to still work ok.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if there has been a chance to the way The Rock is being streamed?

Cheers,
Ben

I created icons in WMC to stream online radio stations and none of my mediaworks (i.e. The edge, the rock, more fm etc) icons work anymore but the TRN (i.e. ZM, radiosport, ZB and classic hits) ones do.

When I run URL snooper over the mediaworks stream I only get .swf flashmedia address and no WMP address.

Hmm - I can still listen to MoreFM, haven't tried the Edge.

What are the exact URLs you are using?

My "New Zealand Radio Streams" iPhone app is timing out on most MediaWorks stations as well - although not the one branded as More FM Auckland 91.8.

Being an iPhone, I have no idea what underlying URLs are being referenced, but it is sounding like a Mediaworks issue I would say.

I use the "TuneIn Radio" app on my iPhone and noticed this stopped working recently also. I just did a little snooping on my network for connections and found the URL is now here: http://wmstream.mediaworks.co.nz/therock

I have been listening to Radio Live on my iPhone on the way to work over the last few months. It used to intermittently fail so I emailed someone at Mediaworks and shortly after that it started working fine for two or three months and has suddenly died again this week.

Would any of the iPhone radio apps allow the above URL (or a variation of it for Radio Live) to be manually entered, or does it require the app developer to update their station catalogue?

@ codyc1515 wicked, thanks for that.    what do you use to snoop your network?

@alasta,  listen to a real radio station like ZB Wink  seriously though replacing therock with radiolive works.

Dosn't work for the edge though

I use Charles Proxy (http://www.charlesproxy.com/), it is incredibly easy to use and very fast.

Like my 65 year old father does? Nah, I think I'll pass on that one!

Anyway, where would I be without Marcus Lush and Michael Laws for entertainment!

I'm going from memory here, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be July.

Nice one guys - I knew I would get a solution on here - http://wmstream.mediaworks.co.nz/therock works a treat on my Squeezebox server. Thanks again!

I'm unable to stream any Media Works stations at the moment via TuneIn, which is not ideal when my Logitech UE Radio uses this for it's radio streams, anyone else with this issue?

GeorgeFM (a smaller station in the MediaWorks stable) changed their streaming a few months ago to coincide with the release of an iOS/Android streaming app. Since then, the .m3u URL in iTunes that I had been using for years, as well as TuneIn radio (on android and samsung TV) stopped working. I hassled them about it on facebook but they just said 'get the app'.

Wonder if they are trying to block third party access to their streams in order to get ad revenue from their mobile apps and shockwave-based streaming webpages?
