Topic # 103291 3-Jun-2012 10:02 Send private message

I'm on 2degrees, and if someone leaves me a voicemail, I never get an alert on my phone that I have a new text message (from 2degrees, informing me of the voicemail), despite being sent a message which appears in my inbox if I manually open the messages folder.

This happens on both an HTC Desire and an iPhone 4s, using the same number but different SIM cards and both pre and post pay.

Any ideas how I can be alerted to new voicemails? I'm missing messages because I forget to manually check after getting a missed call.

Make sure you delete the old one after you look at it.

Hmm, thanks. I deleted the text message, and the voicemail, and did another test. After a few minutes delay, I did get a text message. Seems a strange setup, will have to test in real world use. How do texts get received but not alerted to?

I generally find at least on iOS that if you have one unread message already from a particular number then the next alert is a lot less obvious. You get the beep, but the alert message only shows you the first message. It's a bit annoying.
