So yesterday I changed from telecom xt to 2degrees $149 plan. I'm in ohakune for the week and it's roaming to voda as expected. Data is pretty much unusable, takes minutes of reloads to finally get a page to load even though I have full signal.

I'm using my iPad that has xt and this connection is fine, a friend on voda has no issues. Does 2degrees have very limited voda data capacity; like 16kbps?

If anyone from telecom sales can offer me a deal like voda does I'll swap back in a heartbeat, we have 6 phones on this plan but some are on contract, though would prefer to get a working solution or know how much capacity 2degrees has with voda?

Did you have 3G coverage? VF is unusable without it.

The roaming link is fast enough that it will not be your issue. You could try checking your settings - make sure your APN is 'internet'.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone XS + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

Seems ok now. Msging from my iPhone now. Just seems spuradic but maybe lots of Vodafone users were checking stuff and 2degrees customers get lower priority? Yes 3G signal :)

I think you will find out probably you dropped to 2G on Vodafone, regardless of 3G signal...

The iPhone 4S should work just fine on 3G 900 MHz, so it makes me think you just got unlucky and got somewhere with low or no Vodafone 3G coverage and dropped to GPRS automatically.
