Anyway. its going to the shed on a WDS bridge on a pair of cheap micronet 300 meg N routers, all configured up and working nicely passing traffic. Almost as soon as I plug it into the fritzbox network, I get a massive packet storm happening, cant ping the fritz or the internet, but can ping everything else on the lan.
wideshark shows massive blocks of protocol Homeplug AV 60 bytes long, info is MAC Management, central coordination Discovery List Request.
Flood happens for a few seconds, then stops. Not sure if its the storm control on the switches killing it or what, but it is cyclical.
Turn either end of the WDS bridge off, and it stops. I cant see anything coming from the mac addresses of the 2 routers doing the WDS bridge, but that may just be that they dont get to the PC thru the inbetween switches.
The destination of the offending flood packets is AtherosC_00:00:01 - which is pointing to the WDS bridge because that has mac addresses that are showing as AtherosC_otherthings in wireshark.
So should I get some captures and send them off to fritz AU or snap since they sold me the vdsl router?
