Hi, I have a question about 2degrees in central New Plymouth.

I brought my 2degrees usb modem and laptop into work today because I notice there is now coverage in NP, or so the website says. I used to use this stick with shared data on VF roaming.

However, when I plugged it in, it initially connected to VF, and then after a while switched to 2degrees EDGE. According to the mbb zone map, the area I work (council building) has excellent coverage.

The question is then, does 2degrees have any 3G coverage in central NP?

Fair enough, although I'm hardly located in the heart of the building. We are on the third floor, in the corner, within a few metres of lots of windows. Also, both VF and telecom have good 3G coverage here.

Can you PM me your exact location please. You should be able to get a good idea what the coverage should be like here - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/mobilebroadband/broadbandzones.

Make sure your phone's network search is set to Auto and on GSM & WCDMA.

Cheers

I can confirm that over Easter I had good 2degrees 3G coverage at the Devon St end of Beach St, Fitzroy, New Plymouth.

According to their coverage map 2 degrees should romp in at the corner of Vivian and liardet Streets and especially if you are up on the 3rd floor of the council building. I am not with 2degrees myself but I can do a network operator search up at the hospital  on my android phone and it comes back with 2degrees 3G
