Hi

does anyone have a 6500-E or another model on Snaps UFB? the connection works perfectly with the FritzBox instead of the Mako
but wasted a whole day trying to get the Mako working with the assistance of the helpdesk

If you have a Mako on UFB can you let me know which SNAP Profile you have selected?

Also, are you using the SNAP provided switch they apparently used to provide to get around their lack of VLAN implementation on the WAN side?

Im not using this switch, as they have said they now support VLAN on the WAN in a recent update,

One thing i have learnt so might help someone else who are trying to use the Mako on UFB that requires a VLAN:

the firmware they currently ship on the unit doesn't include the VLAN support, you have to download the configuration.zip with the latest firmware upgrade inside it for a start, you
can get this version from the deployment tab. Wasted half a day before we even found this part out!, but still didn't fix the issue, but actually started reporting what wasn't working.

This is what the makoscope says is happening

13 02:47:02:PPP (ppp0) PPP session is 7403
13 02:47:02:PPP (ppp0) Connected to 00:90:1a:a3:5e:17 via interface vwan10

13 02:48:48:PPP (ppp0) Timeout waiting for PADO packets
13 02:48:48:PPP (ppp0) Unable to complete PPPoE Discovery
13 02:49:12:PPP (ppp0) PPP session is 7410
13 02:49:12:PPP (ppp0) Connected to 00:90:1a:a3:5e:17 via interface vwan10
13 02:49:12:PPP (ppp0) peer from calling number 00:90:1A:A3:5E:17 authorized

13 02:49:12:PPP (ppp0) Connection terminated.
13 02:49:12:PPP (ppp0) Modem hangup

Snap say they dont see any info in their logs at all when the Mako is trying to connect

thanks!

@SnapInternet

myself & the Mako helpdesk and have been trying to get this sorted for 2 days.

if this doesnt work for me, its probably not going to work for any company one who brings a Mako 6500-series to SNAP UFB most likely, it appears from the exisiting profiles, im the first one doing this, the other PPPoE seem just to be VDSL or non UFB Fibre.

would you be willing to get someone whos a bit higher up than the first level helpdesk with UFB knowledge to get some logs?

we know the 00:90:1A:A3:5E:17 is the Juniper on your side but we dont have the logs on why its terminating it

If you can assist please PM me.

thanks

dan

Finally Sorted After 3 days

here is the config you need to get Mako to use to get it working on SNAP

Also, dont use a SNAP password with a # in it, Mako wont authenticate with it, but they said it will get fixed in an upcoming release.
