Hi folks

I have a 2D prepay sim that I use for mobile data.... 1GB $20 pack for on-net.

Just received a text stating that from 16/9 this becomes a 1GB NZ data pack (so I use Vodafone on the rare occasion I roam onto that network) and my casual data rate goes from 50c/mb to 20c/mb....

The Mobile Broadband pricing war continues....

I just have trouble with you working for vodafone yet using 2D.

Doesn't the 'fone give you employee discount?

Hi guys

Just to confirm a couple of points -

The change will take effect from the 16th September. Until then your 1GB pack will only work in our MBB Zones.

From the 16/09/13 the casual rate when the bundle has run out (but not yet expired) is 20c per MB.
If the pack expires you will be charged 50c per MB.

To check your packs expiry dates please login to
Your 2degrees or our Mobile app.

Cheers!

I don't know why this isn't a bigger deal, hardly anyone seems to have paid much attention to it. This makes broadband zone data far more valuable, especially for those on prepaid (as plans have always had national data included).

Hi ExDee

We think so too! At this stage it only applies to the 1GB pack.

Ah right. Looking forward to the day when no one even has to think about if they are in zone or not!

I never got any discount like that when I worked there (TCL, that is).

So this will apply only to new 1gb packs purchased after midnight on the 15th, or will all existing 1gb packs mbb packs just start working nationally ?

New packs only; for existing recurring packs the change will take effect from next renewal.

If people got the same text as me, it was all a bit cryptic ... starts off "As your 1GB Zone pack will become NZ Data, your 50mb / 100mb NZ Data pack will no longer renew" ... no actual text saying "From 16th Sept ... 20c/mb ..." etc

Obviously from the op post there was a text that went out that actually explained things more clearly, but wasn't one I got and if I didn't get it I'm guessing many others didn't either.

So given the text wasn't clear, there's nothing on the website about it yet, and I had to come here to figure out what it was all about, it could just mean there's a lot of people who don't actually fully know what's changing and when ...

So IMO, the comms could have been better. But, it is great news for sure.

I guess this is in response to skinny launching the exact same thing, 1GB for $20 nationwide.

This went live today. 1gb and 3gb are now national and last a month.
Broadband zones renamed to 2degrees zones.
3gb is still available as zone data and lasts the full 2 months as it did previously.

Actually they launched it in response to our announcement, but who's counting? ;-)

Hmmm, just looking at whats on my account now.

The old 1GB Mobile Broadband data zone option, which I had set to auto-renew, has disappeared.

According to this I no longer have any packs that auto-renew. Is that supposed to be correct?
