Hi all,

Like many of you lovely Snap users, I have a Fritz!Box modem, 7340 specifically, but I now find myself wanting more from it.

I have been looking at some options but was hoping for feedback from anyone here who has used another VDSL modem on Snap.

Looking at either a full featured device (vpns (site to site ipsec & pptp), vlans, gbit, maybe wlan (w/ multi ssid)), or just something cheap and stable to act as a bridge to a full featured router.

Looking at things like:
DrayTek DV130
ZyXEL P870H-51a v2
Or at the more expensive end - Cisco 867VAE

Let me know what you guys think!

Be aware the DV130 will only work in bridge mode with beta firmware if VLAN tagging is required. Until it's a public release update you'll have to contact the NZ support team and agree to some waivers to get hold of it.

Looking positive thus far, though.

I'd go for Zyxel. We have about 35 of them in the market and they are great.

personally I have ZyXEL P870H-51a v2 and it has been rock solid for months and months, apart from a power outage for more than 2 hours, my backup power wouldn't last pass 2 hours.

sadly my fibre final install will be today so and I would be looking to getting rid of my zyxel.

Thats the first time I've heard "sadly" and "fibre install today" being used in the same sentence.
