2.5 Months since my Order.

After 2 months I received a txt from snap to say things have moved to the provisioning team.

Week later my order was cancelled because I had not yet sent in the ROW form.

I have just now sent in the ROW form and expect to start at the end of the queue.

So far it's looking to be ~5 months.

Having any sort of consent pprocess to go through really seems to screw up the system.

timmmay: Not following the consent process probably doesn't help!


My issue was I had the form filled in ready to go as I knew I would need it at some point, I was never advised where or when to send it in and my order got cancelled due to not receiving consent within 24 hours.

So Im sitting in the back of the bus at the moment waiting for the process to start again most likely.

Has anyone had thier fibre connected in the Waikato region by UFF and can give a ETA of thier install?

Umm probably because there is way more than 'a handful' of sign ups. The boys are busy as.

Most of the waiting time will be to do with the consent for civil work. That is the biggest hurdle.

If the duct to the property is good and house is relatively easy to wire an entire section can be done in one day with two guys working on it. However, this is just not the case with most installs.

Ordered on/ around 12/12/13, install occurred on 30/12/13 and took all day. This was with Snap & Chorus in the Wellington region.

6 days for me from the start of the order to Internet up and running.
This is with Snap & Enable in Christchurch.

Single dwelling 5-10 days
Small MDU (2/3 units) ~2 months
Large MDU (3+ levels/units) ~3-6 months maybe longer if the consents are difficult to obtain.

It's not even the time it takes to get the physical work done.

We've placed plenty of SDU orders which can physically be turned around in less than half a day. One guy does the civil thrusting under the lawn, the other does the internal work and sorts out the cabinet patching when the fibre gets blown through.

The issue in Tauranga (and to an extent in Hamilton) is there is far too many orders being placed than the "system" can handle.

It's been like that since the middle of the year. The LFC keeps employing more people, the amount of orders continues to grow.

And we don't even have Telecom/Vodafone selling here yet!

Agreed. It seems like a procedural/management issue rather than one of insufficient manpower. We had three different groups of Transfield contractors come and look at the house, each one completely unaware somebody had already been out, and not one of them ever actually came back to do the work. Had to escalate it to management folk at Snap who got one of the UFF management folk to call me directly and sort it out. There were some choice words said about Transfield's performance.

I placed an order 2 weeks ago but I'm still waiting to be given a date by Ultra Fast Fibre. The Snap reps I've talked to seem to think it takes 5 working days for a date of install to be given by UFF.


Around 5 days, but I had to push them back by 2 days because I was out of town...actual install took around 5 hours (overhead install, so probably a bit easier)

This was in April 2013, Timaru - so different LFC, and a lot earlier in the rollout.

took about 9 days from request to go-live.Here in tga. With snap.
