Well this is my national:



This is my international:



Ive been back and forth with snap fixing issues with this connection since I put it in and I'm rather over it.
National was fixed and it all appeared fine but I now require about 80 connections over multiple files to max my line speed where it used to take 1 file with a couple of connections
Moving house soon so will probably be having a change

Bugger. I don't get anywhere near that good a connection overseas, and I'm on the Snap 200/50 trial. I occasionally get 80 to Sydney, but don't recall ever getting over 15 to LA.

I'm also seeing bandwidth to the US that's a lot lower than I would expect.

Auckland (Orcon)


Los Angeles (different servers)



That being said, the connection seems to be more stable tonight than it was last night. I've been trialing a couple of services for unblocking US video sites (Unblock-US, UnoTelly) and was getting awful playback on both. Hulu was frequently stopping to buffer, and Syfy was continually auto-switching between quality settings. I've just watched a TV episode from Hulu with only one quick pause near the start, and Syfy is sticking pretty much to a single quality level.

I'm not that worried about the top speed. I'd just prefer to have a steady connection.

Hi All,

Just an update on what this was, at around 16:25 today there was a DDOS on one of our downstream users which caused (significant) congestion on our NZ - USA paths. as son as it was identified we took measures to isolate the traffic. NZ, AU and some Asian paths would not have been impacted. all back to normal now though!

Internet has still been a bit flay all day. Speed hasn't been quite right and often I am opening a page and get an error in safari telling me it can't find the server. Not just one machine but on different machines all day, not for just one website but for a number of them.
