Has anyone else noticed a drop in speed on their 100/50 UFB plan?  I'm now only getting 30 down although I'm still getting 50 up - very strange????

- Type of connection (ADSL, ADSL2, VDSL)

 


 

- Your modem DSL stats (do not worry about posting Speedtest, we need sync rate, attenuation and noise margin)

 


 

- Your general location (or street)

 


 

- If you are rural or urban

 


 

- If you know your connection is to an exchange, cabinet or conklin

 


 

- If your connection is to a ULL or wholesale service

 


 

- If you have done an isolation test as per the link above

 



 

Most of the problems with speed are likely to be related to internal wiring issues. Read this discussion to find out more about this. Your ISP is not intentionally slowing you down today (unless you are on a managed plan). Also if this is the school holidays it's likely you will notice slower than usual speed due to more users online.

 



 

A master splitter is required for VDSL2 and in most cases will improve speeds on DSL connections. Regular disconnections can be a monitored alarm or a set top box trying to connect. If there's an alarm connected to your line even if you don't have an alarm contract it may still try to connect so it's worth checking.

It's possible somehow you've had incorrect shaping applied to your account (as only down would be shaped)
I had this with my 50/20 plan  it was 50 in each direction due to not being able to shape upload.

Sorry - Ethernet and not testing anything.  Was all fine last night and then this morning the results from Speedtest.org to the Snap Server in Christchurch are consistently 30 down and 50 up whereas they were 100 down and 50 up last night.  I'm trying to get through to Snap but the wait seems to be forever.

30 down 50 up instead of 100/50- i see this in my last 2 SNAP installs when UFB came live, and they fix it on their end pretty quickly, call them up see if its the same issue

Never managed to get through to Snap on the helpline - some of us have work to do and can't spend over an hour on hold.  However, when I returned home last night it had reverted to 100/50 so not sure what the problem was - at least its fixed now.
