Snap replied to me on twitter saying there is still issues with rural comms but none in Blenheim. I can assure them they are wrong as I approach 12 hours completely down.

No IPv4 or IPv6 on fritzbox. System logs state.......
PPPoE error: Timeout pads: no srvname
PPPoE Error: Timeout
Log in with internet service provider failed. Icp tunnel failed

Sure - we had a failure of multiple devices around the Auckland area, we have re-routed a majority of connections to alternate areas while we diagnose and put a permanent fix in place. Sorry for the inconvenience and I'll update more here as we get more info.

As some others have noticed there will be higher latency while your connections are re-routed, this will be resolved once we fully fix the issue!

Hmm that is interesting. Since this issue was resolved I have been going through the POP "SNAPDSL-WLG". Previously I was going through "SNAPDSL-AKL". I am geographically closer to Wellington (I live in Masterton) and have noticed about a 5ms reduction in latency. The lowest latency I have been able to get now is about 15ms where before it was about 20ms. Still wish I had as low latency as some others have been able to get on fibre, but any improvement is great!

Mine is back up. Not the best speed, I'm on 100/50 and just getting 20 down but certainly better than nothing.

Mines back up and been stable for about 1 hour. No IPV6 though.

Hi all, everyone should be back and running now, sincere apologies for the issues for those affected, hope everyone has a good weekend!

Does anyone know if that means traffic shouldn't be rerouted anymore or does it just mean they've stabilized the situation?

Is back after I went into the router interface and disconnected and reconnected but it's not working right. Things timing out and failing all over the place.

I lost ADSL at some stage in the night in Christchurch but rebooted router and came back up OK thankfully.
Not a good look on the UFB outages Snap, should be able to suffer multiple device failures and at least keep services up and running

No amount of Snap outage should effect the DSL sync, so probably worth giving them a call as that would be a separate Chorus issue

dsl sync should still be up even if your PPP is down.


v4 is up, but not v6 for me. dont really wanna risk dropping my PPP to test it again myself. last night netted another few hours offline when i made that mistake!


still going to jills door for internets however.. so snap are clearly still at work on things.

I just disconnected and reconnected ok so that problem seems to have been sorted. Still no ipv6 however.

Another chorus issue is what I worried about, especially during outage which makes reaching them almost impossible due to excessive calls load. Hope its not another 60mins hold music listen time :(

Anyway thanks for your inputs. That certainly help. :)
