Noticed that Snap have just updated their Facebook cover photo with this slogan. Any ideas on what's coming?

I hope they announce it soon, I hate it when companies announce an announcement.

Their Facebook page says they are getting a new website. I hope their new site fixes all the issues I have with their current one.

Maybe they are going to launch a global mode. The TV could represent Netflix etc.

Well that wasn't particularly exciting from my point of view. I want to know what the TV symbol was all about!

Is there any more news on this? I will be moving house in October and will be connecting fibre (most likely with Snap) but not sure if I want to sign up for a term contract with other prospects on the horizon. Some more information would greatly help the decision making process.

Also, I know this is off topic but I was wondering if somebody could explain why, if the house already has fibre and router through Snap, I would need to pay a $99 setup fee? I questioned a phone rep at Snap as to why I needed to pay that when all the gear is there and already connected, he told me "it's a good will gesture". I find that an odd reason.

Hi Lok1

Our new fibre plans are shaping up very nicely - I can't say too much more than that but the product team assure me that they're not far away from launching.

Just a question when you say the house already has fibre & router through Snap ... I'm assuming when you say router you actually mean the ONT that the fibre company provides? In theory this stays in the house forever, but the residential gateway/router that we (or any other RSP) supply is normally owned by the end user and would be taken to their new house.

Cheers
Ralph

There is also a controller and they don't have a gaming service or anything gaming related. I think TV=good for streaming and controller=Good for gaming.

Ild love to see some game servers surface up in NZ again...

Although ild perfer them to be in Auckland too... which im sure is less likely to happen with snap ;)
Which for the most part would close enough to going to aus anyway..

Ild hope its simply not "good for streaming" "good for gaming"

I should have clarified. The router is staying as the current residents have no further use for it. I believe it is a FRTIZ!Box 7360.

What I don't want to have happen is to sign up for a term contract (so I can have internet) and then, either miss-out on or, be penalised for changing to, a better deal through Snap.
