I noticed this during the week - all my tablets and smartphones connect to our Snap DSL Service at home and none can access Twitter timelines... I haven't tested Twitter on a browser as our desktops/laptops connect to another network.

I've seen reference to this on Twitter as well:

Anyone else?

I get the feeling it's to do with the FritzBox's Wi-Fi.

On my iPhone and MacBook Pro, trying to access Twitter via Wi-Fi is extremely slow, often times out, otherwise takes up to 2 minutes to load stuff, not worth trying to use it. Started happening maybe a month ago.

Yet switch to 3G/4G on my iPhone and Twitter becomes fast.

No difference between 5 GHz and the other 2.something GHz Wi-Fi settings.

However, on my Windows desktop with Ethernet cable connected to the FritzBox, Twitter loads fast and fine. So I'm guessing it's a weird Wi-Fi issue.

Also tried using Google's DNS of 8.8.8.8, made no difference.

It's a bug with FritzBox's 6.20 firmware. Below is the translated page from AVM. (found mentioned on Whirlpool)

Okay, installed the beta firmware for FritzBox 7390. Twitter is fast again via Wi-Fi, yay.

Steps:
1. Download fritzbox-beta-7390-29491.zip from ftp://service.avm.de/Beta/FRITZ!Box_7390/english/
2. Extract zip file to a folder.
3. Go to http://fritz.box/
4. Click System > Update.
5. Click the View link at the bottom to make it say Advanced.
6. On the Update page, click the newly-appeared FRITZ!OS File tab.
7. Follow prompts to save a backup of your FritzBox config.
8. For the firmware file, browse to the folder you extracted to earlier and choose "FRITZ.Box_Fon_WLAN_7390_BETA.en-de-es-it-fr.84.06.20-29491.image" (16.5 MB)
9. Click the upload button (or whatever it's named) and wait maybe 5 minutes.

FritzBox's lights did a lot of flashing and eventually the admin page redirected to its login page once the firmware update was complete.

Was having the exact same issue after updating my 7930 but the upgrade to the Beta version has fixed this. Cheers!
