Just trying to clarify a couple things.

I'm a current VDSL customer out of contract. I would be happy to move to the $89 unlimited offer, get $10 off as I'm already with 2D mobile and sign up for 12 months with static IP and a new modem.

Can I assume i don't have to pay the $99 connection fee. Are 2D/Snap still using Fritzbox modem/routers?

I know it is early days as the switch has literally just pulled. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Uh just realised there is a $15 extra fee for "Snap/2D voice plus".

I'm not sure that economically the new plan makes any sense. Time to shop around for other VDSL providers perhaps?

Is there anyway to access previous snap account statements etc?

I am on Naked VDSL unlimited.
I called up to change and you DO have to pay a connection charge! I asked what for, but there is no explanation.

The only way to avoid this is to take another contract term, and they supply new modems, even to current fritzbox users.

I wanted to port my wife's number to 2 degress and sign up to VDSL unlimited, but the connection fee outweighs the gain.

I would complain to Snap/2DG first about this then, take it up with the TDR.

Just ont his, if you changed to 2degrees broadband do you keep your existing static IPv4 and IPv6 allocations?

There should be a strong argument that as a carried over new customer, that you shouldn't have to pay a connection fee for what is essentially just a new plan. The same IT infrastructure is being used because behind the scenes it is still Snap as I understand it. It is only a variation as to the contractual term.

I see no reason NOT to take a complaint to the TDR.

I logged a support call via the website.
I presume if the support call resolves in my favour then there won't be any point in complaining. Will see what happens.

It is ridiculous for them to even think that is a legitimate charge. Not a good start.

it's completely valid argument but it's essentially a pricing complaint - these are not covered by the TDR.

I'm not sure its a pricing issue per se. It would be a disagreement about the fact there is a charge to begin with and whether this is reasonable for someone who is already a 2D client.

The TDR does have a stance on reconnection fees when there is a suspension of service. Whilst not directly relevant it does show the scope of the TDR. And by analogy charging a reconnection fee for essentially a change of plan might be something the TDR is able to look into.

I am on vdsl, on a VDSL Broadband and Calling @ Home plan with Call Minder, Call waiting, Caller ID and a 250Gb data pack and a static IP.

It costs me about $130 ish a month.

I just called 2 degrees, and was told I can go to the vdsl unlimited plan for $89, with Home Calling for $15 which includes Call Minder, Call Waiting and Caller ID.

There is no connection fee.

I will get a $10 discount for being a snap customer.

I still get charged $10 for the static ip.

The new monthly cost will be $104.

I will get 6 months of Neon free.

They can not make the switch before the 3rd of August.
