We just recently moved from Orcon to 2 degrees. We have an old ihug email address that we still use. Previously we were using orcons smtp server and it worked fine.

We've tried the snap one but we are unable to send emails.

I know new none "snap" customers don't get email but I suspect that means no email address which we don't care about.

Any advice for what server and settings we should be using?

I think it is smtp.snap.net.nz

I have an old ihug address I still use and are currently with snap as well. Mine is set to smtp2@vodafone.net.nz and works fine.

I think smtp2 is for the Vodafone mobile (3G) network.

Nope smile http://help.vodafone.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/5288/~/set-up-your-vodafone-email

Works just fine for me. Do think I had to try a couple of options but have never had issues using smtp2 even tho its not what they recommend as first choice.
