By chance I recently ran across a presentation that 2degrees gave to Auckland Council last year about improving their native coverage on Waiheke Island (see page 21 onwards of this PDF). One remark I found interesting was their claim they already have three microcells on the island. GIS Geek's map shows no 2degrees sites on the island and this seems to mirror my observations on my last trip around the middle of last year—i.e. no 2degrees coverage at all.
The only clue I can find in RSM's database is that they have locations for what seem to be 2degrees sites but no actual radio licences (current or otherwise).

Is this a oversight on 2degrees part or do they actually have these microcells live?
In any case good to see 2degrees planning to cover Waiheke Island with more of their own infrasture. The same presentation also explains that 2degrees are planning to build two new sites. When I visited last year my phone kept trying to hold on to the weak signals from the mainland and I eneded up manually selecting the Vodafone network to put the phone out of its misery!
